Bourne

I watched the first Bourne movie today; I have seen it before but today was the first time that I actually enjoyed it.

Before today my thoughts of the Bourne movies was that they were grey, boring and with a really depressing atmosphere but from today I am going to think that the first movie is a cool and intense movie. I bought the trilogy in a pack from CDON a couple of days ago and Lisa and I decided to watch the first movie today.

When the movie ended I really wanted to put in the next movie and watch it, now that didn’t happen but I will see it this week probably. Go Bourne, go.

This week my thesis in Game design starts and I am going to be working for Ted Kjellson and writing some stuff for him, the hard part is to make it as a research. It shouldn’t be only writing instead it shall have a research question that I shall take in consideration while working and writing a report a out if it but I’ll talk to Ted about it and I am sure we’ll figure something out.

I bought the two newest James Bond movies today on Bluray, Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace; a nice addition to both the James Bond collection and the bluray collection-

Early Valentines Day and jawdropping stuff

I just played the Killzone 2 demo on my PS3 and I’m usually not that impresed with high polygon counts, but this game was jaw dropping seriously. Best looking game on console easily but it might get boring with all the grey and brown textures thruout the whole game. But the demo was really nice, I just got a little excite about it and might end up buying it later on. I also downloaded the latest FF7AC trailer from the japanese PSN and even that one was jaw dropping, they have made a good job piffing it up to high resolution and I can see why it have taken so long time for them. An instant buy even though I have the dvd version at home.

Me and Lisa celebrated Valentines day yesterday and I had bought her the first season of Ugly Betty and she got me Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga which was a nice thing since we have finished Lego Indiana Jones and both enjoyed it so now we have another game to play thru together. We also watched Madagascar 2 which was a funny movie I think.

We have soon lived together for 3 weeks I think and we have started to get stuff where they are supposed to be, we moved my computer table to the living room since we’re getting a new bed next week and now I have fixed so I can watch movies on the telly from my PC and with sound, have had problems with the sound since my stereo broke but now we have Lisas stereo so now I put it up again.

Shauns Jagged Snowboard

I received Shaun White Snowboarding today and man, am I hungry for some real snowboarding action now. the game hvae received some mediocre grades over the internet and I can see why, its not the new Amped or SSX and I really hoped it should be. The game isn’t bad, its just not as good as it could have been. They are using the same engine as last years Assassins Creed and the game looks pretty good, to bad that the camera isn’t flowing like it should. The camera can really be jagging when going down a slope, not flowing nicely but really jumping as if it is locked to a specific height over the ground and follows it all the way, its not a nice ride.

The games controller feels wierd in the beginning but after a while you get used to jump with R2 but in the beginning I mostly pressed X to jump which resulted in many missed jumps. Another thing that isn’t working as well as it should and which takes some of the fun out of the game is the physic. When going down the slope you start of quite slow, then you accelerate but then, sometimes you deaccelerate and nearly stops in the slopes with no reason. I have myself been riding a snowboard for atleast 10 years and sure, the times when you slows down is when you are offpist and with to much snow on top of your board and when the slope isn’t sloping, then you might loose some speed but if its going down you don’t loose speed, thats simple gravitation and physic. To bad they missed stuff like that, especially when they have expert help from a guy like Shaun White who should now one or two things about how a snowboard acts in the slope.

The good things with the game is that it’s pretty relaxing and it’s nice to just freestyle down the slopes. There are four mountains in the game . I only tried three of them and so far they are pretty nice, might be a bit small compared to a real ski resort, sure they don’t have to be as big as V’al Thorens in France but they could still span around a mountain. They have some things to do better until Shaun White Snowboarding but if they fix the physic and the camera I think it can be a new Amped or SSX serie, I really hope because its needed.

Amped 3 wasn’t what I wanted, it was to onfocused on snowboarding and introduced like a lot of other stuff and it became pretty unserious, to bad when Amped 1 was a serious snowboarding game with a nice flow and a sweet soundtrack. The gameplay was great and it still looks good. SSX is the opposite of Amped, have a really unserios tone with monster tricks and cartoony characters but it was really fun. Amped 3 was in the middle of them but sure, I pretty much only played the demo and it could be really good, I just got that feeling that it isn’t.

I have spent the rest of the day togheter with Lisa, we went down to the city and bought some things for the animals back in Linköping. We started of at Subway thou and had lunch there, I took a Italian something, really good and a new favorite. We also went in to the one and only wildlife shop in Skellefteå I think, a shop for skiing, hiking and stuff like that and it was really nice. I tried out new caps since my current one is a couple of years old, we also watched some skiing helmets and a little of everything in the shop. I liked the shop and I’ll gonna return there when I decide for what cap I’ll gonna get.

Yesterday evening we watched a pretty good documentary program on Kanal9, apperantly it is a new serie and it follows Louis Theroux, a brittish journalist. On the last program he was in San Quentin, the old prison which still is in use, there he was for two weeks, doing interviews with inmates and stuff. Really interesting and quite scary to see how some people can be so cool when in jail. One guy had recieved 512 years in jail plus 12 life time sentences, seriosly that is a long time for someone to be in jail but he was cool about it, he just had to see life in another perspective to keep going.

Smell you later everybody! Gonna watch Friends and eat ice cream now =)

GTA4 installed

Atlast I can give GTA4 a last push into the finish line. I succeded with the installation on my 5th attempt today after 4 dirty disc errors and now I’m gonna try to finish the game before I get my new games which hopefully is tomorrow. But I probably won’t finish it of before Prince of Persia and Shaun White arrives but I won’t uninstall it from my Xbox atleast since I never know if I can get it in there again.

I got stuck on a mission today thou which was the worst thinkable start of my last push but I’ll probably just need to give it another go. I checked out my playtime for the game and I’m up in 34 Hours. Jikes, I didn’t think I had put that much time in it but well, I have played it from April so its a couple of months so it’s not really that weird.

Tonight me and Lisa is going to watch The Dark Knight, hope its as good as everybody says. I also wanna see The Warriors and Deer Hunter but that will probably be another time. There is too much things I wanna see and play at the moment. Games I wanna play are to mention a few; The Darkness, Mirrors Edge, Heavenly Sword and Dead Space. Guess you have to be out of work and not a student to have time for all the games and movies there is.

Mirrors Fuzz

I just saw that a map pack to Mirrors Edge is going to be released and I must say it looks so cool. It totaly abstract and they have created some really cool environments. Check out the trailer here. I want this game now, sure I wanted it before but now I want it even more but if I’m gonna buy it then it’s going to be next years since I’m only staying up here in Norrland for a little more then a week and I hope I’ll recieve Shaun White Snowboarding and Prince of Persia today so I can finish atleast one of them of.

Yesterday, me and Lisa watched Hot Fuzz and I must say its not as good as Shaun of the Dead but its okey, its just that it isn’t as funny as Shaun. Lisa thinks the other way but she says its because Dawn of the Dead is a better movie then Shaun of the Dead. I havn’t seen Day of the Dead so I don’t know, I just now that I like Shaun of the Dead and  I think its dead funny.

Radarpar

… kommer jag till om ett tag men först lite annat.

Tråkigt väder här i Skellefteå idag, ligger runt 0 grader men det är iallefall snö ute iallefall vilket är skönt. Igår var det fest på Älvsbacka, hade länge planer på att inte gå dit men gick dit tillslut när klockan närmade sig 11. Det var rätt så trevligt, satt mest och snackade med Lisa och hennes kompisar från Linköping och sen Amir förståss.

Idag o även resten av helgen har jag spelat mycket Fable 2, är snart klar med min andra genomspelning och spelet är fortfarande intressant och bra. Man kan ju annars tappa motivationen under sin andra genomspelning men inte här, kommer troligen att spela klart det rätt så snart och sen tror jag att nya Prince of Persia släpps i slutet av nästa vecka så då blir det till att spela det istället. Något som jag är lite besviken på i Fable 2 är dock storleken på Bowerstone, den storstad där spelet till viss del utspelar sig. Den är indelad i 2 stadsdelar och sen närliggande kyrkogård och slott. Jag trodde att staden skulle vara rätt så stor men tji fick jag men det påverkar inte spelet direkt.

Sitter just nu o kollar på Erik och Mackan på TV6, ännu en skön duo på TV. Erik o Mackan e inne på sin andra säsong, nu ska dom bli snygga o smärta och gör en massa roliga och knäppa experiment. Andra dunderduosar på svensk TV är Jens och Sebastian som höll i Stor i Japan tidigare i höstas, det var riktigt kul och intressant, speciellt eftersom jag gillar Japan. Fredrik o Filip har på måndag sitt Boston Tea Party som oxå är ett favoritprogram, svensk teve är inte helt värdelöst även om program som Idol, Stjärnor på Is och liknande inte är några höjdare.

Såg på Shaun of the Dead nyss oxå, innan Erik o Mackan, och skit vad jag gillar Simon Pegg. Filmen är klockren med massa småsaker som gör filmen så himla skön. Typ som när det står en person i parken när Shaun(Pegg) köper blommor och försöker fånga fåglar att äta men det är typ ingen annan än han som ser det. Andra roligheter är när han står och visar teveapparater för några kunder i butiken där han jobbar och dom enbart visar nyheter på alla kanaler och man ser ett par militärbilar på sändingen för att sen i nästa scen se dom åka förbi utanför butiken, det är sånnahär småsaker som gör filmen rolig men som oxå går att missa om man inte tänker på dom. Har en kompis som missade alla sådana och inte förstog varför vi satt och skrattade hela tiden för några år sedan. Pegg och Frost har även medverkat i Hot Fuzz och Run Fatboy Run bland annat men tycker nog att Shaun of the Dead är bäst. Tror att Shaun of the Dead även bygger vidare på en gammal tv-serie som Pegg var med i, har försökt att kolla på den men har aldrig orkat kolla klart på en hel säsong då den inte var lika bra som filmen.

Kommande vecka har vi lektion på senare delen av veckan, ännu lite oklart när då David från Northern Kingdom inte kan ha den planerade lektionen imorn utan det blir först på torsdag eller fredag. Så tills dess ska jag jobba på projektet, ska fixa de delar jag har åtagit mig vilket är mestadels grafiska saker till presentationen. Tror även att jag kommer få hem min bok kommande vecka som jag beställde i torsdags eller onsdags. Ska även försöka fixa med xjobb och liknande så det finns saker att göra, ska bara få tummen ur och göra dom. Ska även ta o gymma och försöka ta mig till innebandyn som jag inte har varit på än.

I fredags så var det en liten film o spelkväll hos mig, vi blev bara 4 stycken, jag, Walter och tvillingarna. Vi spelade lite spel och kollade på Tron och blev då väldigt sugen på spelet Tron 2.0, hittar det bara i en butik på nätet för 189 riksdaler. Funderar på om det är värt det, finns ju andra spel jag vill ha just nu men det var kanske mest tanken att spela under jullovet, men vi får se.

Nu ska jag antingen spela lite Fable 2 med Lisa eller fila lite på mitt personliga brev. O ja, jag har en flickvän som spelar spel, hon e bäst.

Another week in Skellefteå

Havn’t been writing anything for a while so here comes an update on the past week, thoughts and events that have passing throu my life.

Last Monday, the 20th of October, me and Lisa celebrated 5 months togheter. We went to Monaco and ate a 3 dish dinner and after that and some time just sitting and talking we went to the cinema and saw Tropic Thunder. Great movie but an even better evening togheter with Lisa. A romantic Monday and a good start on the week.

At Thursday we had presentation of our flash games, went pretty smooth. Presentet my game a bit different then the rest, I chose to present the game as a prototype to a game that I wrote a paper on earlier this year and this game should be like on peice in that game and not talk so much about the code and how I solved all my problems but sure, some of that came up as well.

There was a lot of intresting games that day even thou a lot of them had evolved from the first demo game we built by writing what Erik, the teacher, wrote but we evolved them good and there was a lot of differenciality between them.

Friday was a smooth night with me and Lisa watching Syriana, a movie we had wanted to see for a while. The movie was pretty good but a bit confusing but it might get better if you watch the movie a couple of times, some movies are like that.

Earlier in the week we saw Battle in Seattle, a movie about the WTO demonstrations in Seattle a couple, 10 or more, years back. Strong movie and good, but its scary how the worlds works. Those who have the power to change things are too greedy to change so that the rest of the world gets it a bit better and he or she might need to drop his salery with a million but I think they should survive that.

I think greed is a world wide problem, those who makes money just want more. Do a sportsman like Zlatan or any other footballplayer need to make 10 million a week to survive? I don’t think so, I survive with under 10 000 SEK each month, if I made 10 000 SEK each month I would be happy at the moment. Greed might be one of the reasons too humanitys extinction in the future. Bill Gates who makes more then pretty much everybody else is donating alot of his money which I think more people should do. I myself are planning to become a WWF godfather or sponsor, give 100 SEK each month to save an animal from extinction, could easily be worth it, the problem is that I can’t decide what animal to support but someday I will become a sponsor.

Yesterday, which soon isn’t correct but Saturday atleast, it was a halloween party at Traversen where our scenbrutes had decorated the whole place and it looked really cool. There was a dead guy hanging in one of the bathrooms and an other one laying on the pool table. I drank, for those who are intrested:

Didn’t need more and it was a nice evening, stayed at the Traversen and helped the people there clean up since Lisa worked there during the evening and when I was gonna take out a bucket with broken bottles I accidently cut myself on one of them, right between two fingers but its healing up pretty good now.

Each Sunday evening there is a tv-show called Big in Japan or Stor i Japan in Swedish and its so good. Its about Sebastian and Jens who are trying to get famous in Japan in a months time. They are doing all crazy stuff but it’s still serious. Sebastian and Jens are two cool guys and I wish I was more like them sometimes.

Today Lisa went home to Linköping so I’m now alone in Skellefteå for a week. Felt terribly at the beginning but it doesn’t feels as sucky anylonger but I still miss her and will do so until she’s back.

Life is busy

Life is busy, the project in school that I have posted pictures on have been changed and shall now include everything in one blender file, so it should be a car or gathering game with animations, python scripts and some other stuff. So I decided to start over and do another type of game which have to be done late next week so I have quite some time on me but I have already started and have texturized nearly everything in the level. So I only need to animate something, may happen to be a sheep, and then put some python code in it. I’ll post pictures later. So since monday afternoon I’ve been swapping between Blender and Photoshop to make the game look ”good”, I even got a paper with concept arts on different things like lamps, doors and what the ground shall look like which is pretty serious.

Yesterday, I think it was, I finished Too Human, ended on 11 hours and 48 minutes which is pretty good, the gametime is told to be between 10 and 15 hours. For those who wonders if the game sucks big time I can tell you that it doesn’t, it’s pretty nice and yes it is repetative but so is World of Warcraft and a lot of other games so I can’t see that as a argument for those who claime the game to be bad without actually playing it. I’ll hope to post an analysis of the game soon, I just have to reflect over the game and write it down first.

Yesterday I stumbeld over a beta key to Little Big Planets so I have been playing it for some time today and it’s pretty fun, still a game I won’t buy, never really been intrested in the game. The game lets you take controll over Sackboy and your goal is to get to the finishline in each level where your score is shown on a leaderboard, score is gathered by picking up glassbowls with some powder in.

I found the beta key on Eurogamer who had 5800 keys yesterday and 20 minutes after I got my key the site crashed since to many people tried to get their hands on one, and people are crazy in the game and its keys. The hype is enormous and people are selling and buying beta keys for 100 kr each atleast just to get to play the beta.

I still haven’t made up my mind of what game to buy, I downloaded the Battlefield Bad Company demo on the PS3 yesterday and I liked it and now I want to play the full game but the market is full of games I want to play like de Blob, Pure, Star Wars The Force Unleased and oldies like Bioshock and Haze so I can’t really make up my mind. I can get Haze for 240 kr from Webhallen which is cheap for a PS3 game that is just a couple of months old. The game have received quite mediocre reveiws but so have Too Human but not sure if its worth putting my money on when there is a lot of new better games out there. It probably aint worth it.

Went to the cinema with Lisa and her father last saturday and watched the latest Arn movie, Arn: Riket vid vägens slut. I’ve seen the first one, also at the cinema, and I like them. The pace in the movies are quite low and are like a book I would say, they take their time to explain things and not just show the action scenes which the movie have gotten some critic for but I like it, it’s like watching the book or like if it was live recorded which it isn’t ofcourse. Haven’t read the books but I might someday since the movies are good, I’ll put it on the to do list for the future.

Spel på alla plan

Gått en vecka sedan jag skrev nått senast och det har hänt en del sen dess. Jag har mått mindre bra, ringt sjukvårdsupplysningen och vårdcentralen, tagit mediciner och blivit bättre. Har sett en hel del filmer och jag har hjälpt Lisa att flytta. Det hela är rätt så ospännande tror jag så slutar där.

Annars den här veckan så har Activision rensat bland Vivendis titlar om vilka som är värda att satsa på och valde att inte satsa på spel som Brutal Legends, Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena samt Ghostbusters utan valde istället att fortsätta utveckla serier som Crash Bandicoot o Spyro the Dragon. Smart val av dom om man vill ta död på en hel industri. Crash serien skulle ha lagts ner efter att Naughty Dog släppte serien, dvs efter del 3, för efter det så har inte Crash spelen varit några höjdare direkt. Spryo har gått samma öde till mötes och att Activision väljer just de 2 serierna istället för att utveckla nya concept är illa tycker jag.

Detta ha även medfört att några svenska företag har hamnat i lite knipa så som Massive Entertainment som utvecklar World in Conflict och Starbreeze som utvecklar Riddicks remake till PS3. Massive riskeras att läggas ner om dom inte hittar några som vill köpa upp dom medans Starbreeze nog klarar sig då dom har kontrakt med fler utgivare än bara Vivendi, bland annat så gav ju Take2 ut The Darkness så dom är inte helt beroende av dom även om det är tråkigt att vi kanske inte kommer att få se en remake på Riddicks gamla xboxlir.

Samtidigt sitter Activision på spel som Guitar Hero 4, Call of Duty 5 och ännu fler uppföljare, det hade ju varit en ide att kanske skrota några av dom serierna då dom börjar gå lite för mycke på rutin och istället utveckla nya IPn. Om det här fortsätter så kommer ActivisionBlizzards i framtiden att vara som EA var för några år sedan då man har 10 serier som man ger ut 1 gång om året, gärna lagom till julhandeln så att man kan dra in så mycke pengar som möjligt. Nä, det är inga glada nyheter för oss som gillar spel. Heja Ubisoft som ännu verkar ha plats för nya ideer och lite nya concept i sin line up.

Byter spelfokus och skriver lite om The Last Guy istället, ett spel utvecklat av Sony Japan typ där man spelar en snäll zombie som ska springa runt och rädda så mycke människor som möjligt genom att föra dom till en safe zone och hålla dom borta från monster som vandrar på gatorna. Spelet utspelar sig på riktigta stadsbilder hämtade från Google Maps och det ser verkligen coolt ut. Tror att små spel som detta kan vara en bra väg att gå i framtiden innan man satsar på något mastondont projekt då dom inte kräver flera hundra miljoner att utvecklas och dom tar ibland tillbaka spelarn till det som faktiskt är viktigt, spelglädjen och känslan och inte super avancerad grafik och super coola effekter.

Byter fokus än en gång men håller fortfarande kvar vid spelvärlden, har kollat en del på teve på senaste tiden och stör mig en del på att det visas Nintedo DS reklamer med spel som är 2 år gamla, bland annat så går det reklam för New Super Mario Bros som släpptes för 2 år sen, även Mario o Sonics OS spel görs det reklam för och det släppte ju förra året, förstår inte varför dom fortfarande visas, ofta man gör reklam för så pass gamla spel lixom. Annars är det ju skralt med spelreklam på svensk teve tycker jag. Hade ju hellre haft en spelreklam till och blivit av med en Libress reklam. Och vad är grejen med den nya deon från random företag som tjejer kan använda i en rörelse. Testade med min manliga, ej upp o ner vända, deo och den funkar även den i en rörelse så förstår inte vad hela grejen är med att ha deon upp o ner. Tjejer kanske saknar tummar och måste därför hålla deon på ett annorlunda sätt men vad jag vet så har min tjej tummar på båda händerna.

Till sist så vill jag bara tacka Lisa, min älskling för att du finns för mig och fanns där för mig alla nätter när jag mådde piss och hade mina problem. Du får mig att må så mycket bättre bara genom att finnas till. Jag älskar dig <3

Golf, sladdar och datorer

Har tappat fokus de senaste dagarna, har inte fått nått gjort alls men ska väll försöka rycka upp mig snart o få lite mer skrivet.

Bestälde en sladd här om dagen från Webhallen, en sånhär, och sen sitter jag hela dagen och funderar på om jag verkligen behöver sladden. Har just nu 180Gb ledigt på min C disk, har en extern där jag har en del ledigt oxå så jag undrar om jag behöver sladden så att jag får 160 Gb till i utrymme.

Hur som helst så skickar jag ett mejl till Webhallen och avbeställer den dagen efter men då är det försent för då har dom redan packat ner den och idag var jag och hämtade paketet. Så nu sitter jag här och funderar på om jag ska öppna det o vara glad för ännu en sladd och lite extra utrymme på datorn eller om jag ska skicka tillbaka paketet på måndag, få tillbaka mina 280kr och sen köpa ett spel eller så istället. Kan tänka mig att sälja den om någon vill köpa den. Ni har över helgen på er att bestämma er isådanafall men skicka gärna en komentar om ni är intresserade så jag itne öppnar den i onödan.

Idag har jag annars skruvat lite i mina datorer, den ena används som nattduksbord då den gick sönder för några år sedan och den öppnade jag idag o kollade om jag kunde hitta vad som faktiskt var felet på den när den gick sönder men jag hittade inget, processorn såg ut som den skulle så jag vet faktiskt inte varför den itne vill fungera. Ahja, har ju en ny nu iofs eller ny o ny, snart 2 år gammal men har ju en annan dator istället för den.

Köpte även ett golfspel på Xbox live Arcade idag, stog mellan det, Golf Tee it up!, och Wolf of the Battlefield: Commandos 3 men valde tillslut att stödja finnarna och deras Golfspel. Rätt mysigt spel men relativt svårt men träning ger färdighet så får väll ge det lite tid.

Igår kväll kollade jag på Homo Erectus och The Wackness där den senare filmen visade sig vara riktigt bra. Rekomenderar den, annars så kollar jag fortfarande på Californication som är riktigt bra, har kommit halvägs in i säsongen och gillar det.

Nä, nu har jag svamlat färdigt för stunden.
